TheCatBox is an artist -run gallery space. Our mission is to promote and exhibit experimental, contemporary art in all media. We encourage art that explores social, political, cultural and personal issues, and we provide a venue for experimental and emerging artists. Our goal is to host a variety of multi-media events, create critical dialogue and community awareness through artistic practice.

The China Steps can be found downtown, where Albert St. meets Commercial St., sandwhiched in between the Thirsty Camel cafe and a store called Quintessential Accesories that sells dog and human clothes/accesories. Walk down the steps and look to your left. TheCatBox is between the back door to Acme foods and the back door to Island Costume rental. It may be behind the carboard dumpster. Don't be discouraged if you see crack smokers. They leave when we show up. ;)
